We have proof here that Ry Cooder and Lucinda Williams once hooked up. Singing/writing/playing talent like this has to be as much genetic as it is God-given. Decker is a mind-blowing talent. Simply not to be missed. ”

compelling and haunting . . . delivered with the wit and compassion of 1920s and ‘30s folk traditions and fitting comfortably with the current music of Rhiannon Giddens and Samantha Fish. ”

Decker’s songs and vocals show her to be an artist with a great future . . . marvelous stuff.”

Bio

Sue Decker's soulful voice, earthy slide guitar playing, and 'outlaw country' songwriting sensibility make for a powerful combination. Since she started playing music with a rented guitar at a bluegrass jam, Sue has been expanding her musicality wherever her songwriting leads. She followed the release of her first EP, 2015's Live at the Duncan Showroom with a digital single "Love Never Follows the Rules".

In 2019, Sue released her debut studio album to international acclaim: "Sue Decker has one of the most remarkable voices I have heard for many a day. She has a warm voice, deep and strong, and there is a haunting quality to it that gave me chills." (Andy Snipper, Blues Matters UK).

On stage, Sue serves up tasty lap-style slide guitar and a playful connection with the audience, whether playing acoustic or electric, solo or with the full band.
